Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about SellSignal.
Data & Accuracy
Where does your data come from?
SellSignal aggregates real-time data from multiple industry-standard cryptocurrency APIs and indexes. We combine price data, market metrics, sentiment indicators, on-chain analytics, and DeFi protocol data to build a comprehensive market picture.
Each data source is selected for reliability, update frequency, and coverage. We continuously validate data quality and cross-reference between providers.
Why don’t your numbers match CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, or TradingView?
Different platforms calculate metrics like total market cap, trading volume, and sentiment indexes using different methodologies. Each provider tracks a different set of exchanges, applies different wash-trading filters, and verifies circulating supply independently.
For example, one provider may aggregate data from 1,600+ exchanges while another uses 790+. They also differ in how they handle wrapped tokens, bridged assets, and low-liquidity pairs. These differences are normal across the industry and don’t indicate errors.
How often is data updated?
Market data refreshes every 15–30 seconds. Sentiment indicators like the Fear & Greed Index update every few minutes. Longer-term data like historical price ranges and on-chain metrics update less frequently since they change more slowly.
The “As of” timestamp on the dashboard shows when data was last fetched.
